How to Become a Formal Member at Trinity Christian Chapel
If you would like to become a formal member at Trinity, we encourage you to follow these steps:
#1. Review Our Membership Requirements
In keeping with Scripture, we ask that you:
-
Be a born-again Christian who has trusted in Christ alone for your salvation. (John 3:3)
-
Be water baptized or plan to be baptized following your salvation. Baptism is an act of obedience, not a requirement for salvation. (Matt. 28:19-20)
-
Embrace the mission/vision of Trinity and our essential doctrines. (Titus 1:7)
-
Submit to the leadership of the Elders, provided they are in keeping with Scripture. (Phil. 1:27, 2:1-4; Hebrews 13:17)
-
Regularly attend our Sunday services. (Hebrews 10:25-26)
-
Give regularly to support the work of the church. (II Cor. 8-9; Malachi 3)
-
Live a godly lifestyle as outlined by Scripture. If a member chooses to live in unrepentant sin, church discipline may apply. (I Peter 1:15-16; II Peter 3:18; Matt. 18:15-18)
-
Promote unity in the church, avoiding gossip or division. If you have concerns, approach a leader directly. (Luke 17:3-4)
-
Attend our annual meeting in December to confirm the budget, leadership roles, and any special congregational meetings throughout the year.
#2. Meet with Elders for a Personal Interview
After reviewing the membership requirements, we ask that you meet briefly with two of the Elders for a personal interview.
To arrange an appointment, please call the church office at 856-725-7398 and speak with Betty. Or contact an Elder directly.
#3. Sign the Membership Agreement
After your interview, you will be given the membership agreement to sign. This step formalizes your membership.
Important Notes:
-
Formal membership is required to serve as a leader in the church.
-
If you choose not to become a formal member but would still like to teach, you must meet the membership requirements and complete the interview process.
-
You are still free to serve and get involved in the church even if you choose not to become a formal member.
