Pastoral Connection: A Changed Heart Is A Healthy Heart
May 5, 2024
“When everybody in the church allows God to work on their heart, the church has a changed heart.”
When we’re out of sync with people or issues and then are humbled enough o allow another to minister to us, we can often feel a sudden adjustment. Then we move forward with the right attitude and the right mind. Whereas when we’re walking with a spirit of pride, we end up cutting other people off. In those moments we feel as though we understand all we need to know, and we segregate ourselves because we don’t need anybody else.
A right word spoken to a believer in a rough situation will result in some measure of a positive change in their heart. A corrective or encouraging word from the Lord through a fellow believer will inspire that person or people to move forward and do great things. There will be evidence of generosity by giving, by works, or by sharing a special word the Lord had spoken to them.

Galatians 6:2 “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
Romans 12:10 “Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.”
Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Practical Application
If you ever find yourself among a group of believers who are not in a habit of displaying gladness or generosity in one way or another, turn and leave. That is not a body of believers after God’s heart.
When you find yourself grumbling in the midst of various kinds of trials, check yourself against Scripture, engage in some sincere prayer, and find the nerve to reach out to a mature Cristian brother or sister.
Likewise, when you detect a brother or sister in need of support, reach out to them and perhaps help lift their head above the water. Don’t be surprise if they snap back at first because iron sharpening iron is abrasive, often causing sparks before getting the job done.
